First, Wash and Dry Your Hands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since your hands can have countless bacteria, germs, and debris, it\u2019s important that you wash them first. Then, dry them thoroughly. This is important because \u2013 if your hands are slightly damp \u2013 it will be difficult to get a good grip on your aligners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip: Use a paper towel if you need a little extra help getting a good grip!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unhook Your Aligner, Starting From Your Molars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many patients are tempted to start from their front teeth, but it\u2019s actually easier to remove them from the back. First, place your index finger on the inside of your back molar, and use your fingernail to gently unhook the aligner. Then, do the same on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gradually Work Your Way Forward<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once you have both ends of your aligner \u201cfree,\u201d start working your way forward. If you have a lot of attachments, then don\u2019t pull directly down. Not only can this lead to a bit of discomfort, but it can also cause them to break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
